We have a rewarding opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our world class facility in Ottawa, ON

As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering Support team, you will play a
central role in configuring, optimizing, and sustaining the digital manufacturing ecosystem that drives production of complex electronic assemblies.
This includes ownership of SAP production routing, Factory Logix MES workflows, assembly documentation, and the supporting processes that ensure accurate product build, traceability, and operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, and Design teams to ensure seamless product introduction, robust process control, and reliable data flow across systems.

Salary Range: $61,700 - $82,300 plus bonus opportunity

Your Challenge:

  • Create, configure, and maintain SAP production routings, BOM structures, work centers, and related master data to support accurate and efficient manufacturing operations

  • Develop and sustain Factory Logix MES workflows, including process steps, verification logic, defect routing, and operator-facing digital instructions

  • Support Manufacturing Engineering in the creation and revision of controlled assembly documentation, ensuring alignment between SAP, MES, and engineering design intent

  • Coordinate with NPI and Design Engineering to establish production readiness for new products, including system setup, documentation release, and validation of manufacturing processes

  • Integrate external production equipment, tooling, test equipment, and data collection systems with Factory Logix and other digital platforms to ensure reliable data flow, traceability and process control

  • Identify and recommend improvements to tooling, fixtures, and process methods to enhance product quality, throughput, and repeatability

  • Provide training and support to production and test personnel on SAP transactions, MES usage, and updated process flows

  • Contribute to factory-wide initiatives involving production test integration, material movement, traceability, and data-driven process optimization

  • Assist in the design or modification of fixtures and supporting tools required for process changes or new product requirements

What You Bring:

  • Technician or Technologist Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with 3–5 years in an electronic or electro‑mechanical manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP (PP/MM), including hands-on experience with routings, BOMs, work centers, and production master data

  • Practical experience with MES platforms, preferably Factory Logix, including workflow configuration, process logic, and defect management

  • Experience integrating production equipment, test systems, or automation tools with MES or data-collection platforms

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem‑solving capabilities

  • Ability to analyze production data, identify trends, and support data‑driven decision making

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, and quality functions

  • Familiarity with CAD tools, automation technologies, and engineering software used in manufacturing environments
