Quality Control Technician

Responsibilities

• Test for various purposes (using written instructions) of card lots/readers/capillary tubes coming from the assembly departments
• Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of Quality Control Laboratory testing equipment and record these activities in maintenance logs with assistance and guidance from a higher-level technician
• Track inventory of Quality Control Laboratory supplies, replace in-house stock, and communicate reorder points to responsible personnel
• Participate in testing process and equipment improvement efforts, including experimental testing, and maintain appropriate records for testing

• Post‑secondary education in a field of science or related field, and/or combination of education and technical experience
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and capable of troubleshooting basic technological issues
• Some working knowledge of GMP and good laboratory practices
• Routine, detailed nature of testing
• Flexibility required for varied nature of testing
• Regular and recurring exposure to blood from screened donors
• Flexibility with adjusting work hours for overnight shifts as scheduled, including on‑call support and navigation between site locations
• Attention to detail
• Proven ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment while satisfying personal responsibilities

• Test laboratory experience such as blood testing, use of pipettes, centrifuges, and tabletop analyzers is an asset
• Knowledge of basic statistics
• Trained phlebotomist
