* JOB SUMMARY:
** The Buyer purchases raw materials, repair and operations (MRO) items from supplier to achieve shipment, margin, quality and inventory goals.
*
* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
*** Expedite parts and materials by: processing and obtaining information from Material
Requisition Planning (MRP) messages, controls excess inventory, process shortages and open order vendor reports.
* Orders, quote, reschedule and cancel parts and materials from MRP and enter information into computer.
* Maintain accurate procurement records such as: services purchased, costs, delivery and inventories in MRP System.
* Plan, schedule, and monitor movement of materials through the production cycle using company spreadsheets.
* Monitor Correction Action Responses for purchasing items: review, develop and forward responses to Quality, check on system and status of actions regularly, request Certificate of Compliance as needed.
* Meet with vendors and sales representatives to obtain product or service information such as: price, availability and delivery schedule.
* Under management guidance: evaluate and determine the best source of supply based on considerations of cost, delivery, quality, risk/exposure and the ability to supply product in accordance with specified requirements.
* Evaluate potential resources to support demand requirements.
* Under management guidance: locate and set-up new suppliers while dealing with less complex commodities.

* QUALIFICATIONS:

* Education:
Associate degree
* Experience Years: 3-5 years
* OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
* Able to read blueprints and drawings
* Understand methods of Purchasing and MRP
* Knowledge of procedures and coordinate requirements to receipts
* Experience with purchasing in manufacturing
* Microsoft Office
