Training Centre Operations at CAE supports training excellence across Civil Aviation and Defense & Security. In this role, the CH147F Aircrew Training Specialist provides technical, flight, and operational expertise as part of verification and validation activities or as a Subject Matter Expert supporting training solutions and courseware development for the CH147F Chinook Aircrew training program. The position is part of the Training Services team supporting and located within 450 Tactical Helicopter Squadron (THS) at Garrison Petawawa, Ontario
, and contributes to the readiness and effectiveness of Royal Canadian Air Force aircrew.
- Develop training solutions for the Training Systems program.
- In collaboration with the Instructional System Designer, develop standardized exemplars for storyboards and lesson content.
- Support the courseware development process by ensuring technical and procedural accuracy in accordance with training plans, platform specifications, procedures, and checklists.
- Support the development of performance checks and assessments to validate learner knowledge progression and course completion.
- Provide first‑level quality assurance on courseware deliverables to ensure accuracy, presentation quality, and alignment with training plans.
- Create, maintain, and execute verification and validation work plans and test plans.
- Review system test plans and develop training and mission scenario test plans.
- Use aircraft documentation to provide engineering and technical support to software developers during system integration activities.
- Test synthetic training devices to confirm compliance with design, regulatory, budgetary, schedule, and contractual requirements.
- Support customer activities during on‑site acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with marketing to provide technical input for customer engagements, bids, and proposals, as required.
- Maintain military and aviation publications.
- Resolve technical issues in collaboration with CFO Technical Services staff.
- Graduate of a Royal Canadian Air Force aircrew course (wings qualified).
- Strong computer aptitude and willingness to learn new software and tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. - Excellent working knowledge of English, written and spoken.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Clearance and Level II NATO Secret security clearance.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid Work Permit.
- Willingness to relocate to Petawawa, Ontario.
- Aircrew Instructor qualification (course code AIMB).
- Tactical aviation experience.
- Functional ability in French.
- Experience as a Standard Unit or Central Flying School member.
- Qualification as a Tactics or Weapons Instructor.
- Flight or mission simulator experience.

Our total rewards package includes base pay and benefits, with final compensation determined by experience, skill, location, and internal equity. $91,000K - $136,400K CAD
