As the Tinsmith, you will play a key role in the fabrication and production of custom and standard sheet metal products while helping maintain quality, efficiency, and safety within the shop environment.
- Ensure the manufacture of special conduits according to the specifications of the customer
- Ensure the manufacture of standard conduits manufactured by the department
- Be involved in and collaborate in the ongoing training of the tinshop helpers and apprentices
- Supervise the tinshop during the absence of the supervisor
- Supervise the respect and application of the policies and procedures established by Management
- Carry out any other task required of the position or as requested by his/her supervisor
- Ensure compliance with established health and safety policies, procedures, and operational standards
You are a strategic, detail-oriented communications professional who excels at managing multiple priorities while delivering polished, high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Tinsmith experience within a fabrication, sheet metal, HVAC, construction, or related environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and measurements
- Experience fabricating custom and standard sheet metal products
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, tools, and equipment
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and support apprentices or junior team members
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Leadership capabilities and the ability to oversee operations in the absence of a supervisor
