Become a crucial part of the Production Ottawa team as a Laboratory Assistant at Canadian Blood Services. Help in the processing of blood collections into vital components that save lives across Canada.
In this role, you will utilize your laboratory expertise to receive, assess, and produce blood, apheresis platelets, and plasma. Your organizational skills will be essential in maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with operational procedures. Moreover, your proactive approach will guarantee safety and quality in work areas and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process whole blood and its components for quality output
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for compliance
• Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment and areas
• Follow strict operational procedures in blood production
• Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times
Requirements:
• Secondary education with 1+ years of lab experience
• Preferred background in science or related fields
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain records
• Experience in food processing or biologics advantageous
