Job Description

Oven Operator

Reporting to the Deposit Team Leader, a Team Member - Rack Oven is responsible for the efficient operation of the oven and baking process. The baking process includes loading the oven, choosing the correct oven setting, and transporting baked product to the cooling area. In this position you will work in a team environment led by a Team Leader. You will support your Team Leader by demonstrating and practicing teamwork every day and respecting all fellow team members.

Pay Rate: $24.15
/hour plus $2 premium for weekend hours.

Summary

You will operate industrial ovens in a manufacturing bakery setting, follow a production schedule, and maintain safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of industrial ovens in a bakery setting.
  • Follow the production schedule.
  • Set oven to proper temperatures, monitor products to ensure specifications.
  • Communicate quality or processing issues to appropriate personnel, including Leaders.
  • Maintain machinery and surrounding area in clean operating condition.
  • Enforce Company standards and perform regular inspections to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel.
  • Handle hot racks appropriately to prevent injuries.
  • Record rework, scrap, downtime, and temperature data on supplied worksheets.
  • Follow all GMPs, food safety, and health and safety procedures as outlined by FGF.
  • May be asked to work a general labor role when needed or be assigned additional duties.
Required Experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (food/bakery experience desired).
  • Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to detect quality issues.
  • Good communication skills and simple math ability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.
  • Ability to switch tasks with minimal distraction.
  • Flexibility to work days, afternoons, nights, and weekends if needed.
  • Ability to work in a hot environment.
