Harris Ottawa is seeking an Electrical or Electro-mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. The Technician will provide support to the production line with unit rework, troubleshooting and assembly.
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions
- Assemble mechanical, optical or electrical components and subassemblies following specified work instructions and procedures to ensure finished product meets established operational and cosmetic requirements
- Continuously perform visual inspections of materials for defects and conduct any range of functional tests and cleaning at prescribed intervals to ensure proper operation of various components during assembly
- Report deviations from standard to appropriate resource for review, instruction and authorization and conduct quality inspection at specified intervals
- Perform accurate data and record keeping
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
- Cultivate a culture that assures effective cross functional team work
- Perform job duties in a manner that complies with environmental, health and safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values
- Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or any other relevant field;
- 3-7 years of work experience;
- Capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system block diagrams;
- Experience with CAD software (Zuken preferred) is an asset;
- Advanced computer skills & Microsoft office Suite;
- Preferably certified one or more of the following courses:
- J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies;
- IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies;
- IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies;
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
