Location:

Ottawa, IL
Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually

Schedule:

Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning & Execution
  • Partner with the Planning team to convert production demand into daily work orders and production schedules.
  • Assign work to employees based on priorities, workload, and skill sets.
  • Perform real-time work order transactions within the ERP system.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing initiatives including:
    • 5S
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Continuous Improvement
  • Inventory & Material Management
  • Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise approximately 15 permanent employees with the ability to scale operations to 30+ team members during peak production periods.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees to meet production and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate onboarding and training of temporary employees.
  • Maintain a cross-training matrix to ensure staffing flexibility across packaging lines.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in consumer products, food manufacturing, packaging, or distribution environments.
  • Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing training.
  • Experience supervising temporary labor during seasonal production increases.
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, packaging, kitting, fulfillment, or distribution.
  • Experience managing production schedules and work orders.
  • Strong ERP system experience.
  • Experience with label software such as Bartender or Zebra Designer
    .
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools including Gemba Walks, 5S, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
