About the roleReporting to the Lead Hand, the Spot Welder is responsible for assembling door and frames reinforcements using spot welding and related machinery, maintaining part inventories, and performing routine equipment maintenance.
This is a new position being staffed which requires the individual to be onsite five(5) days a week, Monday - Friday 2:30PM to 11:00PM.
What you'll do- Following instructions to spot weld reinforcements in doors and frames
- Marking door skins prior to installing the reinforcements
- Using the spot welder machine
- Using the plasma torch, punches, secondary press brakes, small shear to make parts
- Maintaining part inventories (watch, and replenish)
- Regular maintenance of the spot welder’s equipment which includes power tools, the spot welder, and the punches
- Carrying out other tasks as assigned by Lead Hands
Education: High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- The ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Good knowledge of AMBICO’s product
- Relevant experience working with sheet metal, experience with steel doors and frames specifically is an asset
- Relevant experience with power tools
- Experience with heavy machinery is an asset
- Experience following standard operating procedures and adhering to workplace health and safety procedures.
- Working in a manufacturing environment daily
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment for long periods, including safety glasses and ear protection.
- Remain alert for extended periods, paying keen attention to detail
- Ability to lift 23 kilograms (50 lbs)
- Hourly Rate $26.10 - $29.02 plus performance-based incentives, rewarding your dedication, hard work, and contributions.
