Position: System Integration Intern Role at Ciena
Join Ciena as a System Integration Intern and gain practical experience in optical networking. This internship focuses on testing and validation of advanced connectivity solutions.

This internship offers 8 to 12-month terms beginning September 2026. You will play a role in validating optical networking solutions while conducting system-level testing using Python and manual methods. Collaborating closely with architects, you'll develop troubleshooting skills and practical project experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute system-level testing with automation scripts

• Install optical systems within a lab environment

• Identify and troubleshoot system-level issues

• Work with System Architects for behavior analysis

• Perform validation activities using test equipment

Requirements:

• Enrolled in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science

• Linux application experience in academic projects

• Python programming skills for testing tasks

• Experience in lab testing environments preferred

• Familiarity with fiber optics concepts a plus
