Position: Electronics Repair Technician (Soldering)

Adecco is currently hiring an Electronics Repair Technician (Soldering) for a full-time temporary opportunity in Kanata, Ottawa, ON
. This role is ideal for an experienced electronics manufacturing professional with strong soldering and circuit board repair experience. In this position, you will perform precision soldering, rework, and repair of printed circuit boards while supporting manufacturing operations and maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.

  • Salary: $22.50/hour

  • Location: Ottawa, ON

  • Schedule: Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

  • Employment Type: Temporary (Until the end of December with possibility of extension)

Responsibilities
  • Operate soldering and de-soldering equipment to perform precision electronic assembly and repair.
  • Perform fine tin-lead and lead-free soldering under a microscope while meeting IPC workmanship standards.
  • Remove and replace PTH (Plated Through Hole) and fine-pitch surface mount devices.
  • Apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to circuit boards.
  • Follow defined work schedules and manufacturing priorities established by the area Supervisor.
  • Complete production logs, reports, and required documentation accurately.
  • Provide support to various areas of the manufacturing operation as needed.
  • Lift and handle normal consumable supplies associated with production processes.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Contribute to workplace safety initiatives, including participation on the Spill Team and/or Health & Safety Committee when required.
  • Support rotating three-shift operations as business needs require.
  • Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
  • Technician Diploma, or Grade 12 combined with equivalent education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certification or training.
  • Experience performing fine tin-lead and lead-free soldering using a microscope.
  • Experience removing and replacing PTH and fine-pitch surface mount components.
  • Experience applying Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to printed circuit boards.
  • Knowledge of IPC workmanship standards and defect recognition.
  • Experience working within a Printed Wiring Board (PWB) assembly environment.
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Leadership experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience with BGA and CGA component removal and replacement is considered an asset.
  • Experience with IPC Class III soldering standards is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
