Job Summary: Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, the Communications Officer plans, develops, and implements an integrated communications strategy to support fundraising and alumni engagement. The role collaborates with the VP Advancement & Strategy, the Advancement team, and College Marketing & Communications to deliver high‑quality content, oversee electronic communications, support events, and ensure compliance with branding guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the strategic communications plan aligned with fundraising and alumni goals.
- Produce and edit marketing, promotional, and donor‑relations materials, including website and social media content.
- Coordinate electronic communications with College Marketing and Communications resources.
- Support planning and coordination of fundraising events, donor recognition, and alumni engagement events.
- Maintain brand consistency and compliance with College guidelines across all Advancement communications.
- Meet regularly with the VP Advancement & Strategy and management to review needs, track deliverables, and address issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a two‑year college diploma or equivalent in Marketing Communications, Public Relations, English, Administration, Non‑profit Management, or related field.
- At least five years of experience in results‑driven marketing and communications within an academic or non‑profit sector.
- Experience in relationship and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated project and budget management expertise.
- In‑depth knowledge of web, digital, and print production and graphic design best practices.
- Ability to assign and coordinate the work of others and manage multiple concurrent activities.
- Familiarity with fundraising strategies and reporting on giving impact.
- Familiarity with alumni relations or membership base organizations and storytelling.
Benefits & Work Arrangement: The position is subject to the Support Staff Collective Agreement and is eligible for hybrid work under the College's Flexible Work Arrangement Policy (subject to change).
