Position: Lead Coordinator, Event Management )

Position Purpose

Reporting to the Manager, Communication and Marketing, the incumbent plans, manages and promotes events that engage alumni, raise awareness in the community, foster ties between strategic partners and the academic community, and support recruitment, fundraising and research activities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan events: identify client requirements, set budgets, and coordinate all steps required to conduct on‑ and off‑campus activities that engage alumni, raise awareness, build partnerships, and support recruitment, fundraising and research activities.
  • Manage events: organize and manage all logistics, including reservations, rentals, registration, invitations, catering services, equipment installation and space set‑up; supervise event execution, resolve problems and act as representative host for guests.
  • Advertising: participate in planning and designing marketing plans to maximize stakeholder awareness and participation.
  • Communication and liaison: establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • College diploma in marketing, event management, fundraising, or communications, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to formulate creative ideas and analyze, evaluate and negotiate details to create successful events.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Self‑reliance and good judgment; project management experience; experience supervising teams and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of budget management policies and practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of computer systems and software:
    Windows, word processors, web applications, graphic design software, social media platforms, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet browsers and email.
  • Bilingualism:
    French and English (spoken and written) at least Low Advanced proficiency for oral comprehension and reading comprehension in the second official language.
