Senate Outreach Events Coordinator

Enhance youth engagement with the Senate as an Events Coordinator in Ottawa, Ontario. Drive communication strategies and plan events to promote the SENgage program across Canada.

The Senate is looking for an Events Coordinator to support the Communications Directorate. This six-month-term role requires at least one year of experience in communications or education, with a focus on event planning. You will coordinate activities for the SENgage outreach initiative, coordinating youth visits to the Senate and senators’ school engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and manage events linked to youth outreach programs

• Draft communication plans and event proposals

• Coordinate events at schools, colleges, and special youth gatherings

• Utilize social media for organizational promotion

• Develop educational content aimed at youth

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, or related field

• Minimum one year of relevant experience

• Experience in event planning, both in-person and virtual

• Knowledge of Parliament and Canadian political landscape

• Proficiency in English and French communication
