About the RoleWe are seeking an impactful and creative professional to join our team as the Program Communication Lead. This role supports RHF’s efforts to amplify the visibility and impact of its programs and initiatives through thoughtful communications strategies. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Brand, the Program Communication Lead plays a key role in developing compelling content, managing program-specific communications, and ensuring alignment with RHF’s brand and values.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with program teams to understand objectives and craft tailored communications strategies.
- Develop engaging content for a variety of channels including web, newsletters, social media, email, print, and video.
- Translate complex program information into accessible and inspiring narratives for diverse audiences.
- Assist in the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns in support of RHF programs.
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and approvals to ensure smooth rollout of communications activities.
- Contribute to RHF’s digital presence by drafting and scheduling social media posts, updating web content, and monitoring engagement.
- Track performance metrics and audience feedback to inform content optimization and strategy adjustments.
- Ensure all program communications reflect RHF’s brand identity, tone, and values.
- Apply brand guidelines consistently across materials and provide input on visual and messaging alignment.
- Identify and develop stories that highlight RHF’s impact, programs, and people.
- Track engagement metrics for website, social media, newsletters and digital campaigns.
- Gather feedback and insights to improve future communications efforts.
- A post-secondary degree or a combination of relevant training, education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience across key areas of communications, including strategy development, media relations, website management, content creation, and social media engagement.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Experience with and/or knowledge of Indigenous cultures within Canada an asset.
- Experience working in or with the non-profit or charitable sector is considered an asset.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, bilingualism in French and English an asset, knowledge of Indigenous languages an asset.
- Proven ability to develop clear, audience-focused messaging aligned with organizational goals and program objectives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams, as well as independently with initiative and adaptability.
- Ability to engage and collaborate with senior leaders and external partners across sectors to support effective communications and program delivery.
- Sound financial acumen, including experience negotiating with vendors and managing budgets, timelines, and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage communications projects from concept to completion, with attention to detail and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with digital communications tools.
