Senior Strategist in Indigenous Language Communications

Lead communications for Indigenous language revitalization as a Senior Strategist at the Office of the Commissioner of Indigenous Languages. Your work will enhance public understanding and appreciation of Indigenous languages across Canada.

In this role, you will provide strategic communications support and guidance, collaborating directly with the Manager of Communications. Focusing on developing impactful communications products, you will ensure the Commission’s mandates are effectively conveyed to diverse audiences while fostering relationships with Indigenous communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic communications initiatives

• Create key messages, briefing notes, and media materials

• Provide strategic advice on communication strategies

• Lead outreach and media relations efforts

• Monitor digital engagement and content effectiveness

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field

• 4-6 years in strategic communications or media relations

• Excellent communication skills with cultural sensitivity

• Experience in outreach with Indigenous communities

• Knowledge of digital storytelling and social media
