This position is for the new Acute Cardiac Triage Unit.

Days, and evenings, 8 hour shifts.

• Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
• Ability to perform BCLS to the College of Nurses Standards;
• Superior knowledge in Heart Failure Care/Cardiac Surgery Care;
• Superior knowledge in education of Heart Failure patients/Cardiac Surgery Patient;
• Superior knowledge of transitional care/home care supports;
• Minimum 3-5 years current cardiac experience;
• Demonstrates a knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply this process to the practice of nursing;
• Demonstrates a commitment to continuing education and a willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities;
• Demonstrates a commitment to patient teaching;
• Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
• Demonstrates a respectful attitude to patients, the public and colleagues;
• Demonstrates well developed communication and interpersonal skill;
• Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).

Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French- and English-speaking clients.

• Recent experience in an outpatient setting;
• Experience in a heart function clinic.
