Position InformationThis position is for the new Acute Cardiac Triage Unit.
Rotation/ShiftsDays, and evenings, 8 hour shifts.

- Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
- Ability to perform BCLS to the College of Nurses Standards;
- Superior knowledge in Heart Failure Care/Cardiac Surgery Care;
- Superior knowledge in education of Heart Failure patients/Cardiac Surgery Patient;
- Superior knowledge of transitional care/home care supports;
- Minimum 3-5 years current cardiac experience;
- Demonstrates a knowledge of the nursing process and the ability to apply this process to the practice of nursing;
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuing education and a willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities;
- Demonstrates a commitment to patient teaching;
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as an active member of the health care team;
- Demonstrates a respectful attitude to patients, the public and colleagues;
- Demonstrates well developed communication and interpersonal skill;
- Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French- and English-speaking clients.
Preferred Qualifications- Recent experience in an outpatient setting;
- Experience in a heart function clinic.
