As a Registered Practical Nurse with Wee Care, you will do more than deliver care according to a care plan. You will provide reassurance, comfort, and consistency, becoming a trusted and valued extension of the client and family.
Position
Pediatric Registered Practical Nurse in Orangeville, ON.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00 (rotating 3 days/week for 3 weeks and 4 days/week for 1 week)
Note:
If you cannot commit to the weekly schedule, we will not be able to accept your application.
General Duties
Provide G/GJ tube care and management
Provide tracheostomy care and management
Provide ventilator care and management
Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
Maintain the child’s records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
Observe and report changes in the child’s condition to the parent/guardian and Wee Care
Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up
Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Tracheostomy experience
Ventilator experience
Experience working with pediatric clients
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
