The Ottawa Hospital seeks a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to collaborate with medical oncologists in providing comprehensive care to patients with gastrointestinal cancers. In your role, you will monitor the impact of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and immune therapy, and provide essential patient support and education. The Nurse Practitioner will also engage in quality improvement projects, professional development, and rotate across campuses.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage patient care for GI cancer treatments
• Provide education and support during therapies
• Monitor symptoms and side effects diligently
• Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team
• Conduct paracentesis as part of symptom management
Requirements:
• Certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Two years of experience in an acute care setting
• Minimum three months oncology nursing background
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Eligibility to work in Canada
