CHEO Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse Practitioner

Take a leading role at CHEO's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit as a Nurse Practitioner, delivering critical care to children and adolescents. This position involves a blend of advanced clinical skills and interdisciplinary teamwork.
You will be pivotal in managing complex cases, guiding admissions and discharges, and providing life-critical interventions to patients. Your expertise will allow you to collaborate with various teams, communicate treatment plans, and offer educational support to families. Participation in emergency response teams will be an essential part of your everyday functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge processes

• Perform patient assessments and record accurate findings

• Execute critical-care procedures like intubation and line insertion

• Manage and supervise advanced life-support equipment

• Create and adjust holistic care plans with interdisciplinary teams
Requirements:

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field

• Nurse Practitioner certification (Canadian program)

• Minimum 3 years RN experience in pediatric settings

• At least 2 years NP experience in intensive care

• Current RN-EC registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
