Position: Clinical Nurse Practitioner for PICU at CHEO
Excel in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at CHEO as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner, focusing on delivering advanced patient-centered care for critically ill children. This role includes close collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

As a vital team member, you will carry out comprehensive assessments, manage complex medical interventions, and oversee patient transfers within the PICU. Your proficiency in critical-care procedures will assure the highest standard of care, while your communication skills will enhance patient and family education. Engaging in health promotion within the unit will also be part of your daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient admissions and discharges in the PICU

• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document electronically

• Order diagnostic tests and perform essential life-saving procedures

• Lead in the operation of life-support and monitoring equipment

• Develop collaborative care plans with families and healthcare teams

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field

• NP certification from an accredited Canadian program

• 3–5 years of pediatric RN experience

• Preferred 2 years of NP experience in an intensive care setting

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as RN-EC
