Clinical Scholar Position in Nursing

Take on the role of Clinical Scholar at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre. This mentoring position requires a commitment to enhancing the clinical skills of nurses.

As part of the Nursing Professional Practice team, this temporary full-time role is essential in facilitating the development of newly graduated and transitioning nurses. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will coach nurses in real-time while working in a collaborative environment focused on best practices and patient safety. Your extensive frontline experience as an RN will be vital for this mentoring position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor newly hired and transitioning nurses

• Support the integration of patient safety initiatives

• Develop informal and formal educational programs

• Collaborate with unit leaders for improvement

• Contribute to ongoing evaluation of nursing programs

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required

• CNO registration in good standing required

• Minimum five years of frontline clinical experience

• Proven ability to mentor and lead

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
