Ambulatory Care Practical Nurse

Position: Ambulatory Care Practical Nurse at CHEO
Join CHEO as an Ambulatory Care Registered Practical Nurse, where your nursing expertise will enhance patient outcomes. You'll assess patient needs, coordinate with specialists, and actively participate in their care.

As a vital member of the healthcare team, you’ll act both independently and collaboratively to provide comprehensive nursing care. Daily tasks include monitoring patients before and after procedures, administering medications, and maintaining thorough documentation as per CHEO protocols. You'll play an essential role in patient education and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients using lab and medical data

• Assist during medical procedures and provide monitoring

• Administer prescribed medications safely

• Provide instructions and support to patients and families

• Ensure all equipment and supplies are maintained

Requirements:

• Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario

• Vulnerable Sector Check and current BCLS

• Strong interpersonal skills and bilingualism required

• Two years of pediatric nursing experience preferred

• Experience in ambulatory care is advantageous
