Become a vital part of The Royal’s Integrated Forensics Program as a Registered Practical Nurse. Provide specialized mental health care for individuals in the criminal justice system in Ottawa and Brockville.
This role demands a registered professional with a Diploma in Practical Nursing and a commitment to continuous professional development. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and collaborating with an inter-disciplinary team. Proficiency in CPR/AED and workplace violence prevention training is required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and treat patients found NCR or unfit for trial
• Administer medications and perform vital signs checks
• Develop therapeutic relationships with individuals
• Collaborate effectively with the inter-disciplinary team
• Use technical skills such as catheterization and ECT recovery
Requirements:
• Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Knowledge of MHA and relevant legislation
• Basic computer skills and experience in mental health nursing
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
