Advance your nursing career at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse, delivering compassionate care in a dynamic setting. This full-time role focuses on patients with concurrent disorders, involving both inpatient and telemedicine services.
We are seeking dedicated individuals for three full-time openings within the Substance Use and Concurrent Disorders Unit. As a nurse, you'll utilize your knowledge and skills in practical nursing, CPR, and patient assessment, fostering relationships with clients facing mental health challenges. We prioritize ongoing professional development to enhance our care approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide care for patients with concurrent disorders
• Conduct vital signs and glucometer readings
• Administer medications and conduct assessments
• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for patient care
Requirements:
• Diploma in Practical Nursing with current registration
• CPR/AED Certification within the last two years
• Understanding of MHA and related legislation
• Ability to develop therapeutic patient relationships
• Basic computer skills for patient management
