The Registered Nurse is crucial in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individuals and families managing type 1 diabetes. You will work as part of the Diabetes team, providing evidence-based practices and teaching families. This position also involves participating in clinical activities and developing educational resources to enhance diabetes care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a Diabetes Nurse Educator for insulin pump therapy
• Provide counseling for families via telephone
• Teach families and healthcare professionals comprehensively
• Participate in research to develop specialty expertise
• Create educational resources for diabetes care
Requirements:
• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Bilingual in English and French
• Two years of Pediatric Diabetes experience preferred
• Certified Diabetes Educator in progress
• Strong teaching and interpersonal skills required
