Join CHEO as a Bilingual Registered Nurse, specializing in diabetes education and insulin pump therapy. This role emphasizes independent patient care and collaboration within the diabetes team.
The nurse will provide care to patients and families affected by type 1 diabetes, ensuring personalized nursing interventions are effectively evaluated and modified. You will serve as an educator, offering comprehensive teaching to both families and healthcare professionals, while also engaging in research to further enhance diabetes care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Educate families on insulin pump therapy
• Conduct telephone counseling for ongoing support
• Lead training sessions for healthcare professionals
• Involve in clinical activities and continuous learning
• Create educational resources for diabetes management
Requirements:
• Vulnerable Sector Check
• Certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Bilingual in English and French
• BScN (current or in progress)
• Certified Diabetes Educator status required within one year
