Critical Care Nurse

Position: Critical Care Nurse at CHEO
Apply your nursing expertise in critical care with CHEO’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) as a part of the Critical Care Flex Team. This role requires proficiency in assessing and providing care for critically ill pediatric patients.

At CHEO, you will play a crucial role in a dynamic medical environment serving children and youth. As a nurse in PICU, you’ll be involved in complex cases requiring high-level intervention, specifically for patients under 18 with serious health conditions. CHEO offers a supportive transition period as you get acclimated to both the PICU and NICU roles within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and implement individualized nursing care plans

• Facilitate family education to promote patient wellness

• Utilize the nursing process effectively for patient assessments

• Maintain professional nursing standards as per college regulations

• Ensure competence in developing nursing practices

Requirements:

• Baccalaureate Degree of Nursing preferred

• Current Ontario nursing registration required

• Minimum 2 years in pediatric or critical care

• Relevant certifications like PALS and CPR essential

• Strong interpersonal communication skills required
