Operating Room Registered Practical Nurse

Become an integral part of The Ottawa Hospital as a Registered Practical Nurse in the operating room. This role encompasses hands-on patient care in a critical surgical environment.

We are seeking a Registered Practical Nurse with up-to-date certifications and recent operating room experience to join our surgical team. This position emphasizes collaboration, patient education, and adherence to the highest standards of aseptic technique. You will work various shifts, contributing to quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist during surgical procedures with patient safety in mind

• Employ aseptic techniques consistently

• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams

• Participate actively in patient teaching

• Manage flexible shifts including evenings and weekends

Requirements:

• Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Completion of a perioperative nursing or equivalent course

• At least three months nursing experience

• Current Basic Life Support (BCLS)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
