Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated systemof care. An integrated Senior Team leads the two Hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH.Over

600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acuteand long-term care to citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.

Basic Requirements:
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario and licensed with RPN diploma since 1995.
  • If licensed before 1995, proof of certificate in medication administration course from an accredited College is required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Standards of Nursing Practice for Registered Practical Nurses of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrated competency in the basic nursing skills andthe effective application of nursing knowledge.
  • Ability to practice nursing independently when the outcomeis predictable.
  • Committed to future education requirements for working in Ambulatory Care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment.
  • Recent experience (within the last year) assisting

    Physicians with minor procedures, including sterile field and technique.
  • Experience with blood transfusions/infusions and casting.
  • Familiarity with the NISS charting system.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of Care mapping.
  • Emergency/Critical Care or Perioperative experience.
