Advance your nursing career with CHEO in Ottawa as a Temporary Registered Practical Nurse. Focus on pediatric care, particularly for children with respiratory diseases, while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team.
In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients and families. You will work independently and with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective clinic operations. Familiarity with ambulatory care services and supporting pediatric patients is essential, especially regarding asthma management and educational support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and monitor patients using lab results and vital signs
• Assist with procedures and provide post-procedure care
• Administer medications safely as per practice guidelines
• Manage communications from parents and triage referrals
• Provide instructions and emotional support to families
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario
• Current CPR certification and medication administration training
• Minimum two years of pediatric nursing experience
• Bilingual in French and English
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
