Job Summary

Garbage Loaders collect and load refuse on garbage trucks and perform other laboring tasks such as cleaning trucks and materials

Take note – this is repetitive lifting role outdoors.

Salary: $22.00 /hour

Location: TBD – all over Ottawa (starting off near Hawthorn near Walkley Rd)

Hours/Days of work: 6:30am Start time / Part-Time with the possibility of Full-Time

Job responsibilites

Job Duties

Collect and load on garbage/waste trucks

Clean garbage trucks with water hoses and other cleaning devices

Perform other maintenance duties as required

Job requirements

Job Qualifications

1 to 3 months relevant experience

Basic reading and writing skills

Must be able to show a good track record of previous employment stability and workplace reliability

Physically able to perform physical and repetitive tasks during an extended period of time such as lifting at least 30 pounds

Capable of standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time; and dealing with unpleasant odors and vapors

Able to work in an outdoor environment at varying temperature levels

Good Interpersonal skills

Must be willing to comply with health and safety policies and company standards

Fall Protection, WHMIS and Back Care training (provided if necessary)
