Join the Town of Midland as a Gardener for a 12-month contract, leading the charge in horticultural excellence. This role blends gardening expertise with seasonal maintenance tasks.
You will be crucial in managing our diverse planting program while ensuring strong team collaboration. Customer service is vital as you interact with residents and handle their inquiries. During winter months, you'll assist in municipal snow removal and other essential maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead planting and care of seasonal gardens
• Develop and coordinate weekly maintenance schedules
• Monitor plant health and implement pest management
• Document horticultural practices and improvements
• Facilitate customer interactions and volunteer initiatives
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary education in horticulture
• Three years of horticultural experience required
• Valid Ontario “G” driver’s license essential
• Knowledge of environmental best practices beneficial
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
