This Veterinary Extern placement supports students through practical learning at Gananoque Veterinary Clinic. You will gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, and develop diagnostic, dentistry, surgical, and medical-management experience. Communication with medical teams, support staff, and clients is also emphasized.
Key Responsibilities:- Gather patient histories with supervising Associate Veterinarians
- Perform physical examinations and create treatment plans
- Practice diagnostics and dentistry services
- Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures
- Support medical management and client communication
- Veterinary student at any class year
- Clinical education portion required for stipend eligibility
- Availability for experiences lasting two to eight weeks
- Interest in hands-on veterinary mentoring
- Ability to practice communication with hospital teams
