Temporary Laboratory Assistant

This part-time role on the Distribution Ottawa team requires individuals with laboratory experience or a relevant educational background. You will be responsible for receiving, dispatching, and packing blood components according to Standard Operating Procedures. Your organizational and technical skills will be essential for maintaining laboratory supplies and operating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and prepare blood product orders for dispatch

• Maintain supply inventory and prepare weekly orders

• Operate laboratory equipment and maintain its functionality

• Ensure hygiene and safety compliance in the laboratory

• Perform other related departmental tasks as required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience or equivalent

• Proficient in MS Office and quick learner of new systems

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records

• Physical ability to lift up to 10 kg (22 lbs)
