PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Take part in the shift exchange meeting.
Review and approve line clearance prior to line setup
Review sample(s) and requirements for First Off approval and sign as QA representative
Review of in-process data collected during production shift
Initiate non-conformance and manufacturing events reports and carry out escalation of information as well as the isolation of affected
Fill out the quarantine-related documentation and update the ERP system with the product status accordingly.
Support the production team in regard to label issuance for packaged finished product.
Sample lots for AQL-based statistical release as well as retention requirements.
Take part in/support customer tailgate sampling.
Perform supplemental testing on manufactured product
Initiate Raw Materials Discrepancy Reports
Support the internal deviation requests process
Ensure that vision systems are working as per expectation for in-process verifications
Support the rework/re-inspection process for non-conforming product
Support and contribute to Montebello Packaging’s continuous improvement initiatives
Associated Tasks:
Communicate effectively about events that were related to the performance and quality during the production of their shift.
Review the customer history file, product specification files, and any other associated document that provides guidance on customer requirements for the product being manufactured.
Ensure line clearance compliance, meaning that no documents, raw materials, or finished products are found on the line or within its environment after the clearance has been performed.
Complete the required verifications for the First Off approval process and sign off on the completed tasks, as well as the referenced tube kept in the batch record documentation.
Generate the quality control (in-process) shift reports and review to ensure that all tests have been performed by the technicians and/or operators and that any non-conformance has been raised and triggered a non-conforming report.
Upon finding, communicate and initiate Non-Conforming Product Reports and work conjointly with technicians and/or operators, master techs, lead hands, and shift supervisors to gather and document all the required pertinent information pertaining to the root cause of the issue and the actions taken to eliminate or contain the problem.
Issue the quarantine form and change the product status in the ERP system to quarantined.
Support End Of Line inspectors when box label issuance generates quantities of finished product that require to be adjusted.
Perform the sampling and inspections of finished product for the QA statistical release of the manufactured products, using the TAQL book and statistical guidelines for the acceptance or rejection of product.
Perform sampling / verify sampling for customer tailgate-specific requirements, as per provided instructions.
Perform a QA audit of finished tubes during the work shift through dimensional or performance testing.
Initiate a Raw Material Discrepancy Report upon the finding of defective/non-conforming raw materials and take part in the data gathering pertaining to the finding, and ensure documentation is adequate.
Take part in the internal deviation process by reviewing and, when applicable, co-signing the deviation request form, which is then sent to the corporate quality team for review.
Take part in the rework/re-inspection process by ensuring that instructions are provided to and understood by the team performing the task and by conducting the statistical release of the impacted product.
Ensure that print vision systems are set accordingly through the monitoring of the challenge tests performed during production and the issuance of non-conformances tied to print quality.
Applicable to Hawkesbury plant only:
Sets the print vision systems according to the artwork that will be printed on the products during production. Supports the printer technicians with the vision system performances throughout production
