Leasing Agent

We are currently looking for an experienced Full Time Leasing Agent to join our team in Ottawa. The Leasing Agent is responsible for managing the entire leasing cycle, from first contact with prospective tenants to move-out and turnover. This includes marketing and leasing vacant units, tenant relations, issue resolution, rent collection support and administration through Yardi. The role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills and in-depth knowledge of leasing processes and tenant management.

• Proactively build and maintain relationships with clients.
• Manage the complete leasing cycle.
• Advertise available properties using various media and promotional materials.
• Ensure all aspects of the move-in process are properly completed prior to signing the lease agreement, including showings, tenant screening, income verification, and background checks.
• Prepare leasing documents and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
• Address tenant concerns, complaints, and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Handle move-in and move-out process/inspections and documentation.
• Ensure timely follow-up on rent payments, arrears and notices.
• Maintain accurate leasing and tenant files in Yardi.
• Ensure compliance with the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act and Landlord and Tenant Board procedures.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Provide exceptional customer service to both new and existing tenants.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 2-4 years leasing experience.
• 2-4 years experience with Yardi.
• Working knowledge of the Ontario Residential Tenancy Act.
• Strong knowledge of leasing practices.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Competent marketing and sales skills.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and other programs as required.

Job Type: Full-time

• Pay: $50,000-$60,000 annually
