WSP is seeking an Archaeological Field Director to enhance its Archaeological Team in Ottawa, Ontario. Make a difference by leading efforts to protect cultural heritage while supporting crucial infrastructure projects.
As an Archaeological Field Director, you'll spearhead field programs, oversee excavations, and mentor junior team members. Collaborating closely with Indigenous communities, you will help deliver exceptional archaeological results that meet regulatory requirements while championing health and safety in the field. This role is vital for ensuring compliance with industry standards and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Direct archaeological surveys and data collection in the field
• Guide and develop field technicians for optimal efficiency
• Conduct identification of significant artifact assemblages
• Assist in technical reporting and proposal development
• Foster collaboration with stakeholders and project managers
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or related discipline
• Professional Research License in good standing
• Experience with Indigenous engagement in archaeology
• Minimum of 1 year's experience as Field Director
• Familiarity with health and safety guidelines
