You will be working within the Faculty of Social Sciences for the Spring/Summer 2026 term. This position requires an understanding of the artisanal mining sector and its intersections with larger mining operations, especially in the DRC. Your contributions will shape important research outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform extensive literature reviews on mining relationships
• Summarize findings from various texts
• Assist in the preparation of research materials
• Participate in research discussions with faculty
• Support the collection of data for analyses
Requirements:
• Solid understanding of small-scale mining operations
• Knowledge of cobalt mining in the DRC is advantageous
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Ability to conduct independent research
• Completion of mandatory University training
