Position: CHEO Research Associate for Genomic Studies
Contribute to pioneering genetic research at CHEO Research Institute as a Research Associate in genomics. This full-time role focuses on newborn screening technologies and variant interpretation.

We are looking for a skilled Research Associate with a Ph.D. in molecular biology and extensive laboratory experience. This position is essential for advancing screening techniques that facilitate early diagnosis and treatment of genetic conditions in newborns, thus impacting families across Ontario positively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and report on genetic variant findings

• Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and database studies

• Troubleshoot issues related to genomic software tools

• Mentor trainees on variant analysis and interpretation

• Engage in staff meetings and professional growth opportunities

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in molecular biology and/or genetics

• At least ten years in clinical and research environments

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively

• Compliance with institutional health and safety protocols
