Clinical Research Navigator

The Clinical Research Navigator serves as the primary point of contact for investigators and research staff, providing guidance on the regulatory, administrative, and operational requirements for conducting clinical research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). Working collaboratively with investigators from the early stages of project development, the Navigator helps facilitate study start‑up, supports researchers through required approval processes, connects teams with institutional resources, and promotes the efficient, high‑quality, and compliant conduct of research.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary resource for investigators and research staff regarding clinical research processes and requirements.
- Provide guidance on obtaining required approvals, including Research Ethics Board (REB), regulatory, institutional, and departmental approvals.
- Connect researchers with appropriate institutional services, resources, tools, and educational materials.
- Collaborate with the Regulatory and Quality Assurance team to support the implementation of policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and help resolve administrative or operational barriers to study start‑up and conduct.
- Assist with the development and delivery of training and educational initiatives for investigators and research staff.
- Provide flexible support across Clinical Research Administration Office initiatives in response to evolving organizational priorities and operational needs.
- University graduate or a combination of related training and experience.
- Familiarity with clinical research environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of applicable guidance, policies and regulations governing human research.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to correspond with investigators and other stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Office 365, SharePoint, and MS Teams.
- Experience with study start‑up and clinical research administration.
- Experience working within OHRI/TOH research environment.
- Outgoing, friendly and approachable.
- Bilingual (asset, not required).
This is a full‑time position.
