Duties
Polar Knowledge Canada is currently looking for a Policy Analyst (EC-05) in Ottawa, Ontario to advance science policy analysis, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and the coordination of initiatives that advance Polar Knowledge Canada's research, partnerships, and science priorities. This position is perfect for someone with an interest in science and the Northern/Arctic/Antarctic environment, and who enjoys working with a team of innovative, dedicated staff.

This position contributes to an evidence-informed Northern lens to overall federal and international science policy and evidence-based decision-making, informed by research and analysis, and close working relationships with key stakeholders, partners and other government departments. As a Policy Analyst (EC-05), the selected candidate will be responsible for developing strategic policy advice, undertaking research and preparing briefing notes, discussion papers or other reports, providing additional support related to the Chief Science Office’s work, supporting collaboration mechanisms and activities across Polar Knowledge Canada and with other federal departments, agencies, stakeholders, rights holders, and other partners, and supervising up to two people.
