Research Associate Eating Disorders Discoveries Hub

TERM: Full time (1.0 FTE), Temporary to March 31, 2029, with potential for extension
SALARY: From $34 to $42 per hour. Will be commensurate with skills and experience.

Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute Inc. • Lead and contribute to research components to advance projects in the field of pediatric eating disorders.
• Provide methodological expertise for research projects and conduct data analysis.
• Oversee ethics, data capture, data analysis and reporting of various research projects.
• Integrate, interpret and evaluate research findings to advance the goals of the Hub.
• Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations, and contribute to knowledge mobilization at the Hub.
• Contribute to grant writing and funding application preparation.
• Represent the Hub at internal and external meetings focused on pediatric eating disorders.
• Oversee and mentor students and volunteers housed at the Hub.
• Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, partners and other interest-holders.
• Use appropriate and multi‑pronged engagement strategies to engage with all experts and interest‑holders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Manage and/or contribute to multiple Hub projects.
• Conduct sophisticated data analyses and interpretation.
• Communicate effectively and concisely, both in writing and orally.
• Take steps to ensure timely completion of tasks by adjusting priorities as required.
• Exercise sound judgement, discretion and a high degree of confidentiality.
• Deal effectively with colleagues and partners.
• Oversee junior staff effectively, with a proven track record.
• Maintain a working knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation; general knowledge of corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to health and safety.

• Doctorate (PhD) degree in relevant field (e.g., psychology, translational medicine, health sciences, epidemiology, etc.) or equivalent (Essential)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an applied research environment (Essential)
• Strong skills in both quantitative and qualitative research (Essential)
• Excellent knowledge a range of research methods and data management strategies (Essential)
• Ability to define and develop research plans and strategies with a high degree of competence, organization and attention to detail (Essential)
• Knowledge of pediatric eating disorders and/or child and youth mental health (Preferred)
• Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of research related software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,…
