Job Description

Reporting to Dr. Luke Witherspoon, the Clinical Research Assistant III will coordinate day-to-day urology clinical trials and resident research projects under investigator supervision. Duties include study start-up; participant screening, recruitment, consent when delegated and follow-up; visit scheduling; data collection and database maintenance; study documentation, monitoring and close-out. Prepare REB applications, amendments, renewals and reports for investigator review; track approvals and promptly elevate safety events and protocol deviations.

Organize resident projects using project trackers, meetings and deadlines; support ethics submissions, data collection, abstracts and manuscripts. Liaise with investigators and clinical teams, maintain accurate study files, and assist with grant reporting and expense tracking.

• Degree or diploma in health/life sciences, clinical research or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• At least two years of clinical research experience, including REB submissions and participant-facing study activities.
• Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, TCPS 2, informed consent and privacy requirements; completion of required training before delegated duties
• Strong organization, written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage several studies independently within a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic research databases
• Professional, sensitive communication with patients about urologic and sexual health concerns

• Experience with investigator-initiated trials, surgical research, urology, andrology or
  transplantation
• Familiarity with OHRI/OHSN-REB processes, REDCap and
  electronic medical records
• Experience supporting residents or students, literature reviews, abstracts/manuscripts and grant reports
• Clinical research certification (ACRP/SOCRA) or postgraduate research training.
• English/French bilingualism is an asset.
