Intent of the process

The resulting pool will primarily be used for staffing opportunities of various tenures for the Fraser Stock Assessment Program in the Fraser and Interior Area but it may also be used to staff similar future positions at various tenures within Fisheries and Oceans in the Pacific Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Some essential and other qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. In order to be screened into the process, please clearly demonstrate how you meet the following education and experience criteria.

Education:

• Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience).

Experience:

• Experience in organizing and conducting stock assessments of anadromous salmonids.

• Experience operating and maintaining field equipment such as boats, motors, vehicles, inflatable rafts, seine nets, and biological sampling and mechanical equipment.

• Experience in the direction of technical support personnel.
