Position: Casual Healthcare Security Guard – Smiths Falls/Perth/Brockville Hospitals/Lanark County Mental Health.

Smiths Falls Hospital – 60 Cornelia St W;
Perth Hospital – 33 Drummond St W;
Brockville General Hospital – 75 Charles St;

Hours: Various – or .
Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours.
Pay rate: $18.35/hr – $21.48/hr.

Note: Applicants must have flexible availability to work 2–3 12‑hour shifts per week and be comfortable cross‑training at multiple facilities.
Responsibilities- Conduct proactive and reactive interior and exterior security patrols, including in inclement weather.
- Monitor and supervise patients as required.
- Respond to incidents, remain calm in emergencies, and use effective conflict management and verbal de‑escalation techniques.
- Investigate routine incidents and complete clear, accurate incident and end‑of‑shift reports.
- Enforce parking, smoking, site by‑laws, and all client and Paladin policies and procedures.
- Liaise with Paladin management and on‑site staff to meet operational requirements.
- Operate independently and as part of a team to complete assigned duties.
- Stay seated or standing for up to 12 hours per shift.
- Participate in ongoing training and development as directed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Authorized to legally work in Canada.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Valid Ontario G‑class driving license.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate (from a WSIB‑approved provider).
- Ability to be clean shaven for an N95 mask fit test.
- Proof of minimum two COVID‑19 vaccinations.
- Immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and TB skin tests – Step 1 & 2).
- Clear a Vulnerable Sector Check during onboarding.
- Above‑average English communication (oral/written) required; bilingualism (English/French) preferred.
- Six‑plus months of customer service experience preferred.
- Must provide prerequisite certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB). If lacking, you may opt into Paladin’s UoF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding.
- UoF/MOAB training is unpaid, but Paladin will cover all training costs with a six‑month commitment to the position/availability.
- Complete mandatory onboarding and training with Paladin in Kingston, with ongoing training & development as directed by Paladin Management or the client.
