Bilingual Security Guard – Rover Patrol (Full-Time)

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

11am-23h00, 23:00-11:00am and 23:00-0700 am

Candidates must have maintained continuous residency in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years to meet reliability clearance requirements.

Position Overview

Allied Universal is currently seeking a professional and detail‑oriented Bilingual Security Guard – Rover Patrol to support operations within a controlled site environment in Ottawa. This position operates in a Control Room/Controller capacity and plays a critical role in maintaining site security, managing access control systems, and supporting overall operational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong situational awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a structured, high‑responsibility environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and control all access points, ensuring that only authorized personnel are granted entry
  • Issue, verify, and manage identification badges and access credentials in accordance with site protocols
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date access control records and logs
  • Conduct routine patrols and security checks to ensure compliance with established procedures
  • Identify, report, and document security incidents, suspicious activities, and policy violations in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with site management, team members, and visitors to ensure smooth operations
Control Room & Operational Duties
  • Oversee daily operations within the Security Operations Center (SOC) during assigned shifts
  • Monitor and operate security systems, including CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems
  • Act as the central point of coordination during emergency situations, ensuring timely escalation and response
  • Direct emergency calls to appropriate response teams and authorities
  • Maintain detailed logs of all significant activities and incidents occurring during the shift
  • Review and validate incident and shift reports prior to submission to site leadership
  • Ensure all security personnel adhere to post orders, policies, and operational procedures
  • Manage key control systems and maintain accountability of issued assets
  • Support fire safety procedures, including assisting with equipment orientation and compliance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by site leadership
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (required for reliability clearance)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of continuous residency in Canada
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written)
  • Minimum one (1) year of security experience in a professional setting
  • Previous experience in a Control Room, Access Control, or e environment is strongly preferred
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Valid driver’s licence with the ability to operate a vehicle

  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and via phone or radio
