Security Supervisor - HISTORY
Job Summary
The Security Supervisor supports the Security Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the security department, helping to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, artists, and the venue.
Responsibilities- Work with the Security Manager and venue management team to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Manage relationships with third‑party security, including scheduling and staffing.
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other parties to prevent theft and maintain premises security.
- Move throughout the venue, visually monitor areas, and take corrective action when needed.
- Provide guidance, improvements, and implement necessary adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve security complaints.
- Interact positively with guests, visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Train, supervise, counsel, and discipline security staff for efficient operation of the security department.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Security Manager and venue management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar security supervision role.
- Valid security license required.
- Working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
- Proven ability to de‑escalate tense or high‑pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and guest safety.
- Strong strategic thinking and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Acute sense of judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong teamwork and ability to execute programs.
- Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting, and carrying at least 50lbs, and occasional sitting.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event‑based scheduling.
Physical Requirements
Compensation: $25 per hour.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Sits for extended periods at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
