Job Description

ADGA is seeking an Industrial Security Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you will work closely with clients, including construction consortiums, and security/defense stakeholders to assess their risks associated with security management and security design activities. Phases may include concept, predesign and design, drawings and specifications, construction, and commissioning. You will play a key role serving as an advisor to the project team on security management issues related to incidents, overall project information, information protection and document management.

As a key contributor to the protection of client facilities and assets, you will deliver high-quality, responsive industrial security consulting services. Leveraging your expertise in industrial physical security, you will assess threats and vulnerabilities, and develop, recommend, and design tailored security solutions aligned with each client’s operational and organizational requirements.

Within this role you will oversee comprehensive and multi-faceted industrial security requirements on projects throughout Canada. This includes overseeing that the security design, security strategy and governance are aligned within the complexities of the multifaceted components of the project.

This role involves working with clients across Canada, and occasional travel is required.

This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a trusted advisor to our clients you will work closed with them to understand their specific needs and operational requirements and provide advice accordingly.
  • Understand and give formal guidance to clients with respect to requirements of the Contract Security Program (CSP) formerly Canadian Industrial Security Directorate at Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC)
  • Review construction project plans with respect to security.
  • Evaluate the client’s state of physical security based on the methodologies or Prevention Detection, Response and Recovery and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
  • Author Security Implementation Plans (SIP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS).
  • Design and provide implementation recommendations pertaining to Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) and Security Design Briefs (SDB) for physical security and security system designs.
  • Reviewing and recommending changes to process in support of industrial security requirements, support and provide security‐related comments on inputs from other project disciplines.
  • Preparing proposals for the construction phase of security projects.
  • Conduct Security Audits and physical security assessments.
  • Conduct or advise on existing Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs).
  • Conduct or advise on existing Security Design Briefs (SDBs).
  • Experience liaising with and conducting numerous stakeholder meetings and presentations
  • Stay abreast of emerging threats, technologies, and trends in physical security and integrate relevant advancements into security designs and strategies.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience within physical security with elements listed in key responsibilities.
  • Currently holds or willing to obtain the following certification(s) Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold one of these certifications.
  • Fluent with all associated government security policies, guidance, and standards, especially as pertains to Zoning, Security/High Security Zones, Security Management Systems (SMS), alarms, doors, locks, wall construction, etc.
  • Experience working on the design and implementation of physical security projects
  • Experience working on defense, critical infrastructure or other high‐security construction projects preferred.
  • Experience acting as an SME supporting the installation, configuration, and validation of the production test and implementation of physical security assets.
